This is what Anna Wintour wore at the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" Costume Institute Gala held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 2, 2011 in New York City.

Anna Wintour wore a fully sequined Chanel gown at the 2011 Met Ball.
The long-sleeved floor-length dress featured a black hem and sleeves, offset with sand and lilac ombre detailing on the bodice. A jagged silver contrast cut down the middle for a lengthening effect.
Anna's hair was styled in it's signature bob and she accessorized only with a metallic choker. Her makeup is kept pretty minimal, save for a bit of rosy pink gloss.
I think she looks just okay in the multicolored, sequin gown. Though I am not a fan of the gown and it's a miss for me.
