This is what Janelle Monae wore at the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" Costume Institute Gala held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 2, 2011 in New York City.

While the other stars took out their prettiest gowns to wear at the 2011 Met Gala, Janelle Monae stuck to her signature style for the party! She sported a custom tuxedo-esque outfit by Chanel.
The ensemble consisted of a veiled top hat, a ruffle neck and frilly collared white button down blouse and corseted cummerbund. Sleek black satin pumps completed the look.
