This is what Dakota Fanning wore at the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" Costume Institute Gala held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 2, 2011 in New York City.
Dakota Fanning wore a nude, strapless Valentino gown to the 2011 Met Gala.
The nude strapless grown was adorned with multiple appliqued three-dimensional faux flowers on layer upon layer of tulle.
Fanning styled her blonde hair in a straight long center part hairstyle and opted for a pretty pink lipshade to complete the look.

I am not a fan of the dress personally, but I think the dress really works for Dakota, considering her age. The floral appliqued gown looks very age-appropriate and fun when worn by Dakota. I think it was the right choice for Dakota. And she looks really cute and elegant at the same time in the floral gown.
For me this look is a hit!
